Pardon My French Treats
Pardon My French Treats is an artisanal baker known by social media denizens for their range of
specialised French pastries. Available through its online store are traditional and modern canelés,
madeleines, financiers, Mauritian banana tarts, napolitaines, and a range of cakes. To see the
entire range, to order and enjoy some lovely photos, visit www.pardonmyfrenchtreats.com.au.
Our flagship product is the canelé. A canelé or cannelé (ka-nuh-lay) is a small French pastry that looks like a fluted bell, with an accompanying aroma of crème brûlée, vanilla and rum. Biting into its deeply caramelised crust surrenders a soft and tender vanilla custard-like interior.
Founder of Pardon My French Treats, Yeelin Li, moved to Perth from Mauritius in 2015. She conceived of this business during the first lock down, with the idea that “the canelé can be enjoyed and celebrated across cultures.” Unlike other bakers, Pardon My French Treats breaks from tradition and offers a range of canelés with seasonal flavours such as black sesame and pandan kaya among others.
Yeelin also shares a taste of Mauritius through her napolitaines (pronounced na-po-lee-ten). They consist of 2 buttery and crumbly shortbread biscuits sandwiched with strawberry jam and covered in a pink sugar glaze. Napolitaines are often compared to melting moments, but taste even more delicious!
Pardon My French Treats cannot wait to showcase their artisan canelés and bespoke napolitaines at the Perth Upmarket.
