Marina Saker Jewellery
My love for jewellery design started when I was a teenager back in Cyprus. For pocket money, I would make clay jewellery and sell to my local craft store on consignment. I then had to get 'real' job to pay the mortgage and that was the end of my jewellery until recently.
In my late twenties I moved to Paris where I lived for 6 wonderful years raising my two young daughters. We then decided to pack up and move to sunny Perth. I soon found a job working in the corporate world and life got even busier when my second husband and I merged our two families. We decided I would take some time off work to stay at home with five (!) children. As I had a bit more time during the day, I decided to pursue my passion of jewellery design and for the past 3 years have been working with a number of wonderful tutors to learn silver smithing and jewellery design working with solid sterling silver, 9 carat gold and semi precious gemstones.
Now that the kids are a bit older I decided I'd like to go back to work. The question was, do I got back to working in the corporate world again or turn my passion of jewellery design into a small business. I took a chance, hired a studio, filled it with all the required equipment and have not looked back.
