Sparrow Soap

Sparrow Soaps are 100% hand made in Perth. My set up is eclectic, yet clean and natural. I usually use a regular trestle table only. I also do body scrubs and my unique Bath Sherbet.

My name is Erin and I just love making luxurious handmade artisan soaps. I grew up in Albany and Busselton and now live in Perth, Western Australia with my husband (who came from Manjimup), our dog, cat and beautiful heirloom hens.

I have a strong desire to make soaps and other products by hand. I started making our fragrance free soap bars after realising the drying effects of commercial soap and from my husband's need for an alternative to suit sensitive skin. After years of making my own soaps, gifting them and sometimes selling to friends and colleagues, I decided to make a career change and pursue my aspiration to make superior, skin-friendly, vegan soap.

With a focus on luxury, my soaps are 100% Vegan (no sodium tallowate); contain no preservatives (no parabens), no Palm Oil and are made using the natural cold process method. My soaps do not contain any "fillers" or harmful added chemicals that strip the skin of moisture. I use Australian ingredients in my soaps where possible and I am always searching for pure, local ingredients that fit my ethos.

Soaps are hand-cut and left in their most natural form because I believe simplicity is best. When I first started selling my soaps, I searched everywhere looking for a nice wrapping that wasn't plastic, a piece of paper or an ugly box. I wanted to show off the soap as much as I could. I actually decided on the denim and string wrap because years ago I was in a rush to wrap a soap for a friend's housewarming gift, and all I had on hand was some old material. So it stuck! I couldn't be happier with the results. As my soaps are made using the cold process method, they are continually breathing and should not be wrapped in plastic or they will "sweat". I find that people love to touch, smell and see the soaps they are buying and my unique, signature wrapping has now become an integral part of my brand recognition. Whilst it is a time consuming task to cut all those strings, denim and hand stamp each tag, I believe it is totally worth it to make my soaps that extra bit pretty and special, ready for gifting right away.

I could talk all day about soaping so feel free to ask me any further queries :-)
